Laurie is a Professor of Psychology at Anoka Ramsey Community College in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. She is also a certified yoga and meditation teacher and the owner of YogaSoles.

Laurie was a Fulbright Scholar in Uzbekistan in the spring semester 2019. She worked with the Ministry of Public Education to create a bullying prevention program that has been adopted as part of the national curriculum. She has documented her journey through this blog. Since that time she has returned to Uzbekistan four times to conduct additional workshops with teachers and conduct joint research projects with Uzbek universities. She hopes that potential Fulbrighters, as well as, anyone else interested in following her adventures finds this blog engaging.
